Thank you to all who stopped by to watch demonstrations of Clocky and Tocky and had a little laugh with me! Those who visited the booth also got an introduction to our new like of Clocky and Tocky (PRODUCT)RED which will launch in September. Here’s a brief roundup of our time on the road. First was CES in Las Vegas. We didn’t win any money, but we did win the hearts of snoozers from all over. Clocky and Tocky were reviewed by dozens of gadget lovers and we’re still seeing videos pop up all over the web. See what people are saying here, here and here. Our favorite part was when our neighbors from JudoBaby, confiscated our Clocky sign shortly after the show ended claiming they needed it for their office décor. After CES, we traveled to the Atlanta Gift and Home Furnishings Market, to exhibit in The Nest Showroom, which featured a wonderful co-op of other contemporary lines including Molla Space, This is J and Laurel Denise Jewelry. The showroom actually won best showroom design on the entire 8th floor and we were all proud to be a part of such a stunning new space. We made new friends and Clocky and Tocky found new homes in great stores across the country including Queen’s Gifts in North Carolina, Shotwell’s in North Dakota, and Pomegranate Home in Oregon. It’s so exciting to think of our little army of snooze protectors heading all over the country to help those that need it the most! Last, we spent a week in Dallas Total Gift and Home Market and reconnected with Breed & Co. in Austin, Leon & Lulu in Clawson, MI, and the sweet ladies from Aunt Aggie De’s Pralines who gave us fresh pralines to munch on while they placed their order! It was great to see many familiar faces and share the story of Nanda Home with people who couldn’t help but ask “WHO CAME UP WITH THAT?” While we were busy traveling, Remembrance and Right Brain Enterprises showed Clocky and Tocky at the LA and Chicago Shows. Nanda Home is represented by The Tate Group in Canada who are finishing up shows up north now! It was a super start to the New Year and we thank all of you who came out to support us. Posted in Customers, Partners, Trade Shows Tuesday, April 27th, 2010 Before Gauri enrolled at MIT, she worked at Apple designing the user interface of the company’s Final Cut Pro software. One of her colleagues from her time there just wrote us this message: Nice to see you are doing well. Love the alarm clock, yes i’m gonna buy one (or 2)! Thursday, September 18th, 2008 Just in from a customer: My son is very in love with clocky. He got up early in the morning to practice either violin or piano and that really makes me as a mom very happy. I gave one to his friend as a B-day present and her parents are really happy that she got up early to practice music as well. It seems like clocky will be our #1 Christmas present this year. Thank you to Nanda for a very creative invention. Our kids know her from CNBC and wish to be like her when they grow up. Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re glad Clocky has helped your kids get up early to practice music! Saturday, July 19th, 2008 We have the best fans. I just moved into a new place, and found my bedside table a perfect match to the Clocky. I decided to paint it the same color as Clocky, and I figured it would be delightful to share it with you guys. Thanks Leo! And cool nightstand, too! Check it out below. Wednesday, August 1st, 2007 A customer, Gregory Hicks, just wrote to tell us: Good morning! I just wanted to take a minute out of my day to than you ssssoooooo much for creating such a great product! I used it for the first time this morning and it actually worked! I haven’t got out of bed on time in years. I am such a sound sleeper that I usually go to bed with three alarms set and when it is time to get up, I just instinctively hit the snooze button. Your alarm clock made me get out of bed (although I did try to hit snooze out of habit, but just ended up slamming my hand down on an empty night stand)! I can’t thank you enough! Clocky is a life saver! No more worrying about will I over sleep! Again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you! Thank you Gregory! Comments like this make us want to get up in the morning too! Tags: Customers, Feedback Wednesday, June 27th, 2007 A lot of time went into designing Clocky’s packaging for retail. The challenge was in creating something eco-friendly and eye-catching, that would communicate Clocky’s unique function to those who’ve never heard of our popular product, but all with a very less-is-more design. A message from a customer today reminded us of our efforts: I just wanted to write and let you know how impressed I was with the packaging of the clock. It was such a nice change for not have to feel guilty about receiving something packed in unnecessary styrofoam, etc – back to plain old paper that I can easily recycle (happily, thinkgeek, as well, used only paper to pack the mailing carton). Tags: Customers, Feedback, Packaging Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007 Just got this message from a customer this evening: I don’t have to bellow at the top of my lungs to get my teenage son out of bed… I now go and wake him up and put Clocky down on the floor. Then I wait for the miracle to occur — AND IT DOES!!! My daughter and I were in stitches the first morning when we put Clocky into his room and hid it behind a soccer ball, on his shelf. We were laughing so hard, we were unable to film this amazing scene from the outside of his room. He has now resorted to searching for the dreaded wheeled-monster every night, hence my putting it down when I go and wake him. We have a lot of fan videos on youtube, however there aren’t many videos of pranks being played with Clocky (but if you have one to share, we’d love to post it). In the mean time, check out this battle between Clocky and Decepticon. Tags: Customers, Feedback, pranks Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007 We just got a cool email from a customer: The somewhat randomized alarm really helps alleviate the sense of dread and anger that usually accompanies listening to an alarm, and the threat of the thing falling off the table helps me to get up just seconds before it’s set to run away. We thought you would like to know why we chose to give Clocky the sound that he has. We wanted Clocky to talk. For us, Clocky is not an inanimate thing that just beeps at you. Instead, we think of him as being expressive, and having character. We want him to make you laugh. That’s why we spent a lot of time engineering Clocky’s “language”. We worked hard to record a random set of pitches, tones, clicks and beeps and then program them to be spit out randomly. We’re happy that all that hard work has been put to good use. Check the video below to hear Clocky’s voice. Tags: Customers, Feedback, Product Development Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007 Know someone cursed with constant oversleeping? According to a customer who was given Clocky as a gift, it works: I have been using Clocky for a week now. It is really amazing! Can’t believe how well it works. It already saved me a lot of hours snoozing. The best part, besides moving around, is the different sounds it makes. They definitely make it hard to ignore. I hope it stays effective for a long time.
